Welcome to VGU's School of Business Informatics! In this site you will find information about our programs and activities. We offer high-class education in Business Informatics which you will probably find nowhere else in the world.
Why is this so? There is no place in the world with such a concentration of knowledge and expertise in Business Informatics [link] like in Central Europe. Our universities have a long tradition of teaching and research in this field. We call it Business Informatics (and not Information Systems) because we mean both "business" and "informatics". You will find many topics from Information Systems here as well, but in addition you will notice a significant portion of up-to-date computer science. This strong focus on the synergy between computer science and business applications is unique in the world.
SBI is proud to present its programs to students all over the world now. If you are interested in special topics only you may attend stand-alone courses. If you want to learn about a particular area (like Website Engineering, for example) then there are mini programs of two or three courses. If you are out for an academic degree then the International Master of Business Informatics (MBI) program is what you should choose.
All our courses and programs are completely Internet-based. This means that you can study at home and you need not travel to Europe nor live there. Nevertheless you will get the same high-quality education as European students do.
Actually you will get even better education! Why? SBI has brought together more top experts in Business Informatics than a single university could ever hire. The school's faculty a is network of distinguished professors who teach their special fields at reputable universities in Central Europe. This unique combination of expertise is our biggest asset, and you will benefit from it!

MBI program
The MBI program is delivered through a cooperation between VGU and the European University Viadrina.
The MBI program was initially developed in English under a grant by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research in the program "New media in education". Starting in summer semester 2010, the MBI program can be studied as a German language program as well.
