Examination Regulations

Examination regulations are the legal framework under which any government approved course of study is run. The system of grading, examinations, admission, and many more details are specified in such regulations.

Examination regulations for the MBI program were agreed on by the Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the European University Viadrina because it is this university that finally awards the master's degree. Regulations are provided in English and in German. While only the latter ones are binding under German law, the English version is a translation of the German document to the best of our knowledge and belief.

Some remarks on terminology: Please note that the regulations are written in British English. The terms "course of study" and "programme" are used interchangeably. Formally the MBI programme consists of "subjects" which themselves contain "courses". Courses are what is described as one-semester topics under course descriptions and in the curriculum on this website. There are approximately 15 "courses" in an individual's "course of study". "Subject" is actually just an intermediate construct which exists only for technical reasons without bearing further importance.
